City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily academic tutoring and mentoring to students in partnership schools Support classroom instruction through small-group and one-on-one interventions Monitor, document, and report student progress and engagement Build positive, trusting relationships with students to boost motivation and attendance Collaborate with teachers and City Year teammates to align support with classroom goals Participate in training, coaching, and reflective practice to grow skills Engage families and school staff professionally to support student success Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Lesson reinforcement and homework help Classroom support and small group instruction Student assessment and progress tracking Behavior management and positive reinforcement Data entry and documentation Use of online learning tools/EdTech platforms Basic report writing and communication Time management and organization Professionalism in school settings Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required Experience working with youth in school or community settings preferred Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including background checks) Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Strong written and verbal communication skills5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
