City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Offer near-peer mentoring and social-emotional support to students Track and report student progress and attendance data Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support Lead or assist with afterschool programs and enrichment activities Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school climate Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage with families and school community events when needed Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for school-day service Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards and policies Classroom support Tutoring and academic support Youth mentoring Data tracking and documentation Basic behavior management Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Time management Cultural competency Problem-solving Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Pass required background checks Commit to full-time service term (typically 10–11 months) Ability to meet school district clearance requirements5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
