City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Support students’ academic and social-emotional growth through in-class assistance and small group tutoring Build positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and consistent attendance Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement interventions and classroom support Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Participate in professional development, training, and coaching sessions Engage in school-wide events, family outreach, and community service activities Model City Year’s core values around social justice, inclusivity, and youth development Student mentoring Classroom support Academic intervention implementation Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Lesson support and tutoring Communication with students and staff Basic conflict resolution Time management Community outreach support Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or lawful permanent resident status) Ability to pass required background checks for service in schools Completion of required City Year and AmeriCorps pre-service training CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required Experience with youth programs, tutoring, or mentoring preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
