General Manager / Operations Leader – Heavy Civil Water Infrastructure
Location: Washington DC / Maryland
Compensation: To be discussed during conversations - $250,000+ base
About the Opportunity
An established heavy civil infrastructure contractor is seeking a senior operational leader to oversee one of its most strategically important business units.
This is a rare opportunity to step into an established operation with a strong backlog, experienced delivery teams and significant growth plans across the Mid-Atlantic water and wastewater market.
Reporting directly into executive leadership, you’ll take ownership of business performance, operations, client relationships and long-term strategic growth, while leading a team of experienced Project Managers, Superintendents and support staff.
This isn’t simply another project leadership position.
It’s an opportunity to lead a business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall performance of an established heavy civil business unit
- Provide operational leadership across multiple concurrent projects
- Drive business growth, profitability and long-term strategy
- Mentor and develop Project Managers and operational leaders
- Build executive-level relationships with municipal owners, engineering consultants and key stakeholders
- Lead major pursuits, interviews and preconstruction activities
- Champion alternative delivery and collaborative project approaches
- Support budgeting, forecasting, resource planning and commercial performance
