Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an inpatient surgical hospitalist team in Lewiston, Maine, providing high-quality nighttime admissions and inpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.Position Highlights:
Full-time or part-time opportunity available
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Provide comprehensive history and physical examinations for new inpatient admissions
Manage nighttime admissions workflow and ensure timely clinical evaluations
Develop and implement initial care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Manage inpatient surgical patients during overnight shifts
Coordinate care with hospitalists, surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
Support care transitions and assist with discharge planning as appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
Collaborative hospital environment with strong specialty and physician support
Structured onboarding and mentorship program availableQualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Active or eligible Maine state licensure
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage admissions and acute inpatient care independently and collaboratively
Two years prior experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or acute care requiredCompensation & Benefits May Include:
