About the Role
HL Mando America Corp is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our HL Mechatronics operations in Auburn, Michigan.
This role serves as the primary HR partner for engineering, manufacturing, and operational functions, providing both strategic and hands-on HR leadership across talent management, organizational development, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and compliance.
The HRBP will partner closely with business leaders and employees to align people strategies with operational and organizational goals within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing anoengineering environment. This position requires a collaborative, proactive HR professional capable of balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day employee support while helping drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and business growth.
Key Responsibilitie
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as the primary HR business partner supporting engineering, manufacturing, and operational team
- Partner with leadership to align workforce strategy, organizational structure, and talent planning with business objective
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, and employee development initiatives
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and organizational matters
- Build strong working relationships across departments to support collaboration, engagement, and operational effectiveness
Performance Management & Employee Development
- Partner with managers to establish performance expectations, goals, and KPI alignment
- Provide coaching and guidance related to employee performance management, feedback, and development conversation
- Support performance improvement plans, corrective action processes, employee documentation
- Assist with leadership development initiatives, employee training programs, and career development planning
- Promote employee growth, retention, and organizational capability development
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and employee concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local employment laws and internal company policies
- Maintain strong working knowledge of employment regulations and HR best practices within manufacturing and engineering environments
- Support risk mitigation / recommend proactive HR solutions to minimize organizational risk
- Partner with management to foster a positive, professional, accountable workplace culture
HR Operations & Process Improvement
- Support HR operations, HRIS administration, reporting, policy implementation, and employee lifecycle processes
- Recommend and implement HR process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Support compensation planning, market benchmarking, and workforce analytics initiatives
- Monitor labor market trends, hiring activity, workforce needs to support talent planning
- Assist with headcount planning, budgeting, and organizational forecasting activities
Change Management & Organizational Support
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives, restructuring efforts, process implementation projects
- Serve as a change agent supporting leaders / employees through organizational transitions
- Support employee engagement initiatives, retention strategies, and workplace culture
- Promote a high-performance, collaborative, continuous improvement work environment
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required
- Prior HR experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or technical operations environments strongly preferred
- Experience partnering with leadership teams and operational stakeholders required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Ability to influence and build credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Experience supporting organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives

Legal Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Supervisory Responsibility
- Provide leadership and support to the HR USA-2 team
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based environment with periodic travel to company locations as required
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing, engineering, and technical operational environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel domestically as require
Work Schedule & Travel
- Hybrid remote work schedule eligible at management discretion
