CDL-A Tractor Trailer/ Straight Truck/Romulus, MI

We are seeking an experienced CDL-A Company Driver for a local driving position based in Romulus, MI. Drivers will operate automatic 2024 International tractors and straight trucks, delivering a variety of freight throughout Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Metro Detroit.

Pay: $30/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Weekends: No
Overtime: Available
Average Mileage: Approximately 200 miles per day
Equipment: 2024 International tractors and straight trucks
Transmission: Automatic
Touch Freight: Approximately 60%
Driver Helpers: Approximately twice per week

Duties

Safely operate CDL-A tractors and straight trucks on local routes.
Complete approximately 200 miles per day throughout Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Metro Detroit.
Make fewer than 5 stops per day when operating a tractor and 10+ stops when operating a straight truck.
Load and unload freight as required.
Handle touch freight approximately 60% of the time.
Safely lift and handle freight weighing up to 75 lbs.
Transport primarily palletized freight.
Complete deliveries to commercial and residential customers, stores, warehouses, yards, and airports.
Work with a driver helper approximately twice per week.
Follow DOT regulations, company policies, and all applicable safety procedures.
Maintain professional communication and provide dependable customer service.

Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A license.
Ability to safely operate tractors and straight trucks.
Ability to lift and handle up to 75 lbs.
Comfortable performing loading, unloading, and other physical freight-handling duties.
Must be able to obtain or maintain the required airport clearance for airport deliveries.
Ability to work Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Willingness to work overtime when available.
Ability to safely complete local routes throughout the Metro Detroit, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids areas.
Must successfully complete the required interview and road test
