City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in key subjects such as math and English Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Support students’ social-emotional growth through check-ins, goal setting, and encouragement Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and address student needs Lead or assist with school-wide initiatives, assemblies, and after-school programs Track student progress and document service activities and outcomes Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment focused on student success Engage families and community partners in supporting student growth when appropriate Uphold City Year and AmeriCorps service standards, policies, and compliance requirements Youth mentoring Small-group instruction Classroom support Basic data entry and progress tracking Behavior management support Communication with educators and staff Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusivity practices Conflict de-escalation techniques Basic facilitation of group activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass required background checks Proof of high school diploma or equivalent Commitment to a full year of service with City Year Strong commitment to educational equity and national service5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
