City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support through tutoring and mentoring Lead small group and one-on-one interventions in literacy, math, and other core subjects Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior Monitor attendance and engage students in strategies to improve participation Assist with planning and facilitating after-school programs and activities Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and City Year teammates to align student support Track and report student progress using designated tools and systems Participate in City Year training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Help organize school-wide events that build a positive school climate Model City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and service in daily interactions Classroom tutoring Small group instruction Youth mentoring Behavior management Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural responsiveness and DEI awareness Basic facilitation of groups and activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or permanent resident status) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school districts Completion of City Year pre-service and ongoing training programs5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
