City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support, small-group instruction, and one-on-one tutoring to students Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive relationships Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support classroom and school-wide goals Track and document student progress and program impact Facilitate after-school or enrichment activities as needed Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Support school events and family engagement activities Model inclusive, equity-focused behavior aligned with City Year’s values Academic tutoring (reading and math) Classroom support and management Student mentoring and youth engagement Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace) Communication with students, families, and staff Cultural competency and equity-focused practice Facilitation of small groups and activities Time management and organization Team collaboration in school settings Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Able to pass background checks required for service in schools Commitment to full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
