City Year seeks a Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you’ll provide small-group and one-to-one tutoring, in-class support, and mentoring to help students stay on track. You’ll collaborate with teachers, track student progress, and help create a positive, inclusive school climate. City Year offers training, professional development, and the opportunity to grow as a leader while making a meaningful impact alongside a diverse, mission-driven team. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Coach and mentor students to build social-emotional skills, confidence, and engagement in school Support classroom instruction alongside teachers to reinforce lessons and maintain a positive learning environment Monitor and document student progress, attendance, and participation using basic data-tracking tools Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and City Year teammates to identify student needs and adjust support plans Help lead enrichment activities, after-school programs, and school events that foster a positive school climate Communicate with students in a culturally responsive and inclusive manner, modeling respect and empathy Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development offered by City Year Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture focused on educational equity and student success Tutoring in core academic subjects (e.g., literacy, math) Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and progress monitoring Written and verbal communication Collaboration with teachers and school staff Time management and organization Culturally responsive and inclusive practices Use of basic educational technology and productivity tools Facilitation of group activities and enrichment programs Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k City Year AmeriCorps eligibility (US citizen or legal resident, background check) Experience working or volunteering with youth in school or community settings Training in tutoring or academic support (preferred) Coursework or training in education, youth development, or social work (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
