City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class and small-group academic support in core subjects Deliver targeted interventions to help students stay on track in attendance, behavior, and coursework Build positive, mentoring relationships with students from diverse backgrounds Support classroom management and create an inclusive, safe learning environment Assist with planning and leading after-school and enrichment activities Track and document student progress and participation using basic data tools Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and fellow AmeriCorps members as part of a service team Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners in school-based initiatives Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year service standards and organizational values Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management assistance Youth mentoring Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Time management and reliability Basic technology/computer skills Program and event facilitation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (AmeriCorps eligibility) Able to pass background checks required for service in schools AmeriCorps Member enrollment eligibility5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
