City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small-group tutoring to students Offer mentoring and social-emotional support to help students build skills and confidence Support classroom management and foster a positive, engaging learning environment Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs Track and report student progress and engagement data Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and fellow AmeriCorps members to meet student needs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners in school-based initiatives and events Model inclusive, respectful, and equity-driven behavior in school communities Support school-wide events, attendance initiatives, and climate-building activities Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Team collaboration Time management and organization Basic technology proficiency (Google Suite/Microsoft Office) Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Able to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Meets AmeriCorps eligibility requirements5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
