City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to partner teachers to reinforce instruction and classroom routines Deliver small group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects such as English and math Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional development Track and document student progress using basic data and reporting tools Support implementation of school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school climate activities Assist with planning and leading after-school or extended learning programs Participate in ongoing City Year and school-based trainings, coaching, and professional development Collaborate closely with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff Communicate regularly with supervisors and school partners about student progress and needs Model City Year’s values, professionalism, and commitment to social justice and educational equity Small group tutoring Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring Basic data tracking and reporting Behavior management support Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Basic educational technology tools (e.g., Google Suite, learning platforms) Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred) Must pass background check and school district clearances Eligibility for AmeriCorps enrollment Commitment to full-time service for the entire service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
