City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students during math, ELA, and other core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions Track and document student progress and participation Support social-emotional learning and positive behavior in classrooms and common spaces Assist with planning and leading afterschool or enrichment programs Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support strategies Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners at school events where needed Model inclusive, respectful behavior and support a positive school climate Contribute to a collaborative AmeriCorps team environment and City Year initiatives Tutoring and academic support Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring Basic data entry and progress tracking Communication (verbal and written) Classroom management support Cultural competence and DEI awareness Time management and organization Collaboration and teamwork Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Workspace, email, virtual meeting tools) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be at least 18 years old U.S. Citizen, National, or Permanent Resident Pass background check Commitment to 10–11 month full-time service term Experience working with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
