City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support classroom teachers with instruction, behavior management, and lesson activities Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and document student progress and participation using established tools Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs and progress Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs Participate in City Year training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Engage families and community partners to support student success Model professionalism, inclusivity, and respect for diverse backgrounds Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team environment within the school Academic tutoring (reading, writing, math) Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology and software tools Communication with students, families, and school staff Time management and organization Facilitation of small groups and activities Conflict resolution and de-escalation Community service and engagement practices Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (meets citizenship and background check requirements) Demonstrated commitment to youth development or education Experience working or volunteering with diverse communities (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
