City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Support classroom instruction alongside teachers during the school day Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs and activities Track and report student progress using program tools and data systems Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff to meet goals Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families about student progress Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model positive behavior, leadership, and respect for diversity within the school community Support school-wide events, initiatives, and service projects as needed Tutoring and academic support (math and literacy) Youth mentoring and engagement Classroom support and behavior management Data entry and basic progress monitoring Time management and organization Team collaboration and communication Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Basic computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets) Program facilitation and group management Conflict resolution and de-escalation Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for work in public schools Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills in English and another language (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
