Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight Education brand, seeks a Teacher, Alternative Education to support at-risk and nontraditional middle and high school students in a personalized, credit-bearing learning environment. In this role, you will design and deliver standards-based instruction, adapt lessons to diverse learning needs, and provide structured academic and behavioral support. You will collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to align goals, monitor progress, and maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom. This mission-driven position offers opportunities to grow skills in special education, behavior support, and student advocacy while helping students re-engage with school and achieve graduation goals. Deliver standards-based, credit-bearing instruction to middle and high school students in an alternative education setting. Develop and implement individualized learning plans aligned with student goals and district requirements. Use data and assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction for diverse learning needs. Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies to maintain a safe, structured environment. Collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to coordinate services and interventions. Support students’ social-emotional development and advocacy skills in a student-centered environment. Maintain accurate records, grades, and documentation per school and district policies. Participate in professional development focused on alternative education, behavior support, and student advocacy.
