Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight Education brand, seeks a Teacher for our Alternative Education program serving middle and high school students. You will provide personalized, credit-bearing instruction to students who have dropped out, are at risk of dropping out, or need a nontraditional setting. In a small, structured classroom, you’ll deliver standards-based lessons, track progress, and support behavior and social-emotional growth. You’ll collaborate closely with school districts and families in a mission-driven, student-centered environment focused on safety, respect, and success. Professional growth in special education, behavior support, and student advocacy is encouraged. Plan and deliver personalized, standards-based instruction to middle and high school students in an alternative setting. Manage a small, structured classroom that promotes safety, respect, and engagement. Assess student performance, track credits, and adjust instruction based on data. Support students at risk of dropping out through advocacy, mentoring, and behavior support. Collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to align goals and services. Implement behavior management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a positive environment. Develop and maintain student learning plans, documentation, and required reports. Use education technology to deliver instruction and monitor progress. Participate in professional development focused on alternative and special education practices. Contribute to a mission-driven, student-centered school culture.
