Local Government Federal Credit Union/Civic Federal Credit Union seeks a Collections Specialist to support member financial wellness while minimizing credit losses. In this hybrid Raleigh-based role, you’ll manage delinquent consumer and small-business accounts, conduct inbound and outbound calls, and negotiate sustainable payment solutions with empathy and professionalism. You will document activities in core systems, interpret aging and risk reports, and collaborate with lending and member services teams. Success requires strong communication, regulatory awareness, attention to detail, and alignment with our mission of serving North Carolina’s local government community. Manage delinquent consumer and small-business accounts in accordance with LGFCU/Civic policies and regulations Conduct outbound and inbound collection calls with empathy and professionalism Negotiate payment plans and settlements while protecting member relationships Document all collection activities accurately in core and CRM systems Monitor aging reports and escalate complex or high-risk accounts as needed Collaborate with lending, member services, and loss mitigation teams Adhere to FDCPA, FCRA, and other regulatory and compliance requirements Contribute to continuous improvement of collection strategies and workflows Consumer and small-business collections Skip tracing and account research FDCPA compliance FCRA and credit reporting knowledge Payment plan negotiation Core banking and CRM systems Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools Data entry and documentation accuracy De-escalation and conflict resolution Basic financial and lending concepts Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, and related collection regulations Previous credit union or banking collections experience preferred Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Certification in collections (e.g., ACA or CUNA) preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
