This is a part-time internship (10-15 hours a week). Unpaid, course credit available.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Troubleshoot and fix common hardware (laptops) issues


  • Troubleshoot and fix common software issues


  • Add/Delete/Modify user accounts within our systems


  • Document and record common issues to help future users help themselves


  • Update and maintain servers, firewall, and other mission critical infrastructure


  • Provide patient, polite, and prompt support to end users and customers


  • Work with the interns in other departments on projects of a wider scope

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Working toward an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field


  • Having a working knowledge of common information technologies and systems


  • Familiarity with the management of hardware and software for end-users


  • Troubleshooting common IT problems


  • Ability to communicate with customers and end-users to solve technical problems quickly


  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team


  • Exceptional attention to detail

PREFERRED SKILLS


  • Experience with technical writing for documentation or instruction


  • Hardware and software certification, such as A+ or Net+


  • Program certifications, such as Cisco and Microsoft Windows
