Finance & Operations Director - SAFEchild

In this role you will provide strategic and hands-on leadership for finance, HR, operations, and technology to sustain SAFEchild's mission and support future growth. You will partner with the Executive Director, Leadership Team, and the Board to ensure sound financial practices, scalable systems, and effective risk management. You will shape budgeting, reporting, audits, and grant management while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, audits, and grant financial management per GAAP; ensure accurate records
• Lead annual operating and program budgets; monitor variances and provide strategic recommendations
• Manage internal controls, risk management, and compliance; coordinate Form 990, 1099s, and tax reporting
• Oversee HR/Finance Manager and Resource & Operations Manager; maintain segregation of duties
• Develop financial plans to support growth from $3M to $5M; monitor cash and opportunities to optimize resources
• Oversee banking relationships, reconciliations, and vendor management; lead financial and operational infrastructure
• Provide financial counsel to Executive Director and Board; present clear financial information for governance
• Provide leadership for technology, facilities, vendor management, and business continuity; strengthen cybersecurity and internal controls
• Lead HR policies, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and benefits administration
• Contribute to organizational strategy and strategic planning with data-driven analysis and scenario planning

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Five+ years nonprofit leadership experience in finance and operations
• Knowledge of GAAP, audits, internal controls, and compliance; grant management experience
• Experience with QuickBooks, and Microsoft 365
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
• Ability to work with senior leadership and boards; develop and mentor staff
