Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled interpreting in educational settings
• Experience supporting students in K-12 preferred
• Certification and/or relevant credentials for sign language interpretation, as required by the state
• Ability to work collaboratively with education professionals and effectively support IEP goals
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and professionalism
• Comfortable confirming student age and providing services on-site per client request

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, clear interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers, and staff during classroom lessons, events, and meetings
• Ensure full access to classroom content and discussions for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and support a positive, inclusive school culture
• Work closely with case managers and special education teams, reporting on student progress as needed
• Adapt interpreting methods as needed for diverse learning needs and environments
• Participate in relevant meetings or professional development if requested
