Ombudsman Educational Services seeks an Instructional Aide to support middle and high school students in an alternative education setting. You will assist teachers with classroom instruction, small-group and individual support, and behavior management for at-risk and nontraditional learners. Responsibilities include preparing materials, monitoring student progress, and helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and school districts while building skills in special education, behavior support, and student advocacy. Support teachers with daily classroom instruction and activities Work with small groups or individual students on targeted skills and credit recovery Reinforce behavior expectations and provide positive behavior support Assist in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources Monitor student engagement, attendance, and progress Provide supervision during transitions, breaks, and non-instructional times Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and district partners to support student plans Document observations and communicate student needs or concerns to the teacher Model respectful, student-centered interactions aligned with the school’s mission Classroom support Small-group instruction Behavior management Student supervision Special education support Progress monitoring Individualized learning support Instructional materials preparation Collaboration with teachers Basic computer skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Paraprofessional certification (where required) CPR/First Aid certification preferred Background check clearance Training in behavior management preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
