As a member of the professional staff, the Operational Analyst/Associate contributes specialized knowledge and skill to support team and/or department business objectives. This is a role for a quick thinker, who has strong analytic, written and oral communication skills, who is enthusiastic about a role within the organization and wants to learn the operational aspects of our business. Our client is looking for candidates that possess strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently with minimal guidance, and the ability to effect positive change to current systems and processes. We are looking for an aggressive individual who possesses at least two years’ experience in the Investment Management Industry, who can identify and inject themselves in situations to affect prompt resolutions. The ideal candidate would possess knowledge of syndicated bank loan processing but have a bend for solving operational implementation issues using that knowledge. While the candidate’s primary are of focus will be on syndicated loan settlement, operations personnel often cover multiple processes and work streams as needed. Integrity and trust are a prerequisite. A basic knowledge of trade operations, especially in fixed income, is required. Responsibilities Coordinate on going syndicated bank loan settlement and other operational processes. • Track on-going unresolved tax operations issues in a coherent and organized manner • Monitor and resolve any ongoing cash breaks for bank loans • Analyze and approve bank loan restructures for booking in company’s accounting system • Work with IMS back office to develop measurement of each step in the settlement process • Monitor and resolve for any potential hurdles to settlement. Work with portfolio manager and trade assistants to facilitate any urgent trade matters surrounding bank loan trades • Project manage and design reporting from the Bank Loan Restructures sharepoint site • Interface with company’s Tax Team (Agent KYC/AML requirements), Fund Accounting, IMS, Corporate Actions and other key groups as challenges arise and lead the charge in resolving them • Develop on going protocols and procedures around the syndicated bank loan operations program. Formalize a guidebook, with all workflows and documentation such that the syndicated bank loan program audit readiness • Serve as informational resource for syndicated bank loan products to the company • Adopt other operational processes as needed to support the rest of the team. Operations personnel tend to cover multiple areas other than their primary area of focus. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: • The candidate must be able to work on multiple tasks and respond well to a deadline oriented environment. • Four-year degree with concentration in accounting, math, or finance with a focus on tax sensitive investing from a leading, accredited college or university. • 2-3 yrs of relevant work experience. • Understanding of syndicated bank loans; including closing and maintenance of loans as well as the interrelationship with Agent banks. • Knowledge of WSO, LoanSERV and Clearpar a plus. • Working knowledge of required tax documentation in Investment Management a plus but not required. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite. • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to resolve issues in a timely and comprehensive basis. • Ability to work productively and efficiently in a continuously evolving, complex and fast pace environment • Proven ability to work under pressure and make deadlines • Solid client relationship management skills a must. • Ability to constructively push back on external parties to achieve the best results for our clients. read more
