Key Technical Roles: The Sr. Windows Administrator is responsible for systems administration, maintenance and improvements of existing Windows environments, and design, implementation and deployment of new systems for the client's computing infrastructure. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Design and implement systems in accordance with project and operational requirements • System health monitoring and incidents resolution • OS/Application hardening • Patch management – coordinate patching schedules with key stake holders, deploy patches, verify environment post patching and resolve any reported issued • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for technical problems escalated from help desk • Research and recommend improvements for the existing application environments • Support and maintain Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, VMWare ESX servers, VMWare Horizon (VDI), DNS, and other Windows based applications • Assure maximum infrastructure availability through planning, scheduling and completing routine proactive maintenance, system upgrades, applying patches, hot fixes and security configurations • Trading Floor support, all front end technologies and services • Unix, Windows operating system administration • Application support for a broad range of Departmental requirements. (Financial, Back Office, Risk Management, Trading, Administration) • Hardware support for all IT infrastructure provided • Publish technical specifications and technical designs based on business requirements for new environments • Participate, provide feedback and lead some of the project management phases from planning through execution • Systems design and architecture • Moves, updates and patches • Nurture continuous improvement of Service/Support from vendors • Documentation and cost management of infrastructure systems • Comply with internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements • Deal with colleagues and external contacts in a courteous and efficient manner • Performs other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 7 years of Windows server experience and thorough understanding of Active Directory, GPO, DNS, VMware, SharePoint and Exchange • In-depth knowledge of Windows protocols and components such as CIFS, NLB, Clustering, IIS, WDS, WSUS and Event Forwarding • Familiarity with scripting (VB/PowerShell/Perl), security tools and system management tools • Knowledge on NetApp, Cisco network (Switch and ASA) preferred • Experience with HP hardware, Cisco UCS is a plus • Ability to quickly diagnose and fix problems • Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment • Positive “can do” attitude and strong sense of accountability and ownership • Very good interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills • Must be flexible and willing to work different shifts and weekends as required read more
