City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support in partner school classrooms Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive school engagement Track and report student progress using established tools and systems Support classroom management and reinforce teacher-led instruction Participate in school-wide initiatives, after-school programs, and family events Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to address student needs Engage in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development sessions Model City Year’s values of service, inclusion, and social justice Classroom support Tutoring (ELA/Math) Youth mentoring Behavior management Lesson implementation support Data entry and progress tracking Basic educational assessment Team collaboration Community outreach Professional communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (including citizenship and background check) Experience with youth, tutoring, or community service strongly preferred Ability to commit to full-time service for the program term Basic computer proficiency (email, documents, spreadsheets)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
