City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class support to students in partnership with teachers Tutor students in small groups and one-on-one in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and participation data Support classroom management and create an engaging learning environment Assist with school-wide events, afterschool programs, and family engagement activities Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to meet school goals Tutoring in English/language arts Tutoring in math Classroom support Youth mentoring Behavior management strategies Data entry and progress tracking Basic education technology tools Lesson and activity facilitation Community outreach and family engagement Professional written and verbal communication Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including citizenship or legal residency requirements) Ability to pass required background checks for work with youth Experience working or volunteering with children or in schools preferred Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
