City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support, small-group tutoring, and one-on-one mentoring to students Collaborate daily with teachers and school staff to reinforce academic and social-emotional learning goals Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Support school-wide initiatives, events, and family engagement activities Model leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to social justice and educational equity Classroom management Tutoring and academic support Lesson implementation Student progress monitoring Data entry and tracking Behavior intervention strategies Communication with teachers and staff Youth mentoring Basic technology skills (Google/Microsoft Suite) Community outreach support Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (including citizenship status and background check) Some roles may prefer prior experience with youth development, tutoring, or mentoring Completion of City Year and AmeriCorps required trainings5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
