City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class and small-group academic support to students Mentor and build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Support school-wide events, activities, and family engagement efforts Classroom support Tutoring in math and reading Youth mentorship Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Lesson implementation support Communication with teachers and staff Basic technology use (Google/Microsoft Suite) Community outreach support Time management Must be eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps member (e.g., U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident, and meet background check requirements) Successfully pass criminal background and school district clearances Commitment to a full-time, full school-year AmeriCorps service term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
