City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide daily in-class and after-school academic support to students in partner schools Build positive, mentoring relationships to promote students’ social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support classroom learning and climate Lead or support attendance, behavior, and homework initiatives Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners in student support activities Model City Year’s core values and contribute to an inclusive, equity-focused culture Student support planning Tutoring in English/Language Arts Tutoring in Math Classroom assistance Behavior management strategies Data tracking and reporting Basic mentoring and counseling Community outreach coordination Professional communication Time management Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (including citizenship or lawful permanent resident status) Ability to pass background checks required for work in schools Experience with youth, tutoring, mentoring, or community service preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
