City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Build positive relationships and mentor students to support social-emotional growth Monitor student progress and document attendance, behavior, and academic data Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Plan and lead enrichment, after-school, and community-building activities Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model City Year’s values of service, equity, and inclusivity Communicate regularly with teammates and supervisors to coordinate services Classroom support Tutoring in math and ELA Behavior management Student mentoring Data tracking and documentation Collaboration with teachers Lesson and activity facilitation Time management Community outreach support Basic computer skills (Google/Microsoft Suite) Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements (including citizenship and background checks) Commitment to a full-time term of national service Experience with youth, tutoring, or mentoring preferred Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
