City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to students during and after school Support teachers with classroom management and instructional activities Build positive, consistent relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance Assist with implementing behavior, attendance, and social-emotional learning initiatives Collect and track student progress data to inform supports and interventions Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to support whole-school initiatives Help plan and lead schoolwide events, family engagement activities, and enrichment programs Model inclusive, respectful behavior aligned with City Year values Maintain accurate records and comply with AmeriCorps and school policies Tutoring and academic support (literacy and/or math) Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship building Basic data tracking and progress monitoring Communication (verbal and written) Team collaboration in diverse environments Cultural competency and inclusivity Problem-solving and adaptability in school settings Time management and organization Basic computer and educational technology skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background check required for school-based service Some experience working or volunteering with youth preferred Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps term of service5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
