City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small-group tutoring to students in partner schools Build positive relationships as a near-peer mentor and role model for students Track and report student progress and support implementation of intervention plans Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align support with classroom goals Lead or assist with after-school programs, enrichment, and school-wide events Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Support attendance initiatives, behavior plans, and social-emotional learning activities Engage families and community partners to strengthen student support networks Classroom support Tutoring in math and English/language arts Youth mentoring Behavior management Small-group instruction Data entry and progress tracking Communication with teachers and staff Basic conflict resolution Time management Community outreach and family engagement Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident requirements) Ability to pass required background checks for work in K–12 school settings CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required Experience with youth development, tutoring, or mentoring strongly preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
