Jobot is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney to manage complex matters for clients in the professional, scientific, and technical services sectors. In this role, you will independently handle a diverse defense caseload from initial assessment through resolution, including research, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances. You will collaborate in a tech-forward, people-centric culture that values transparency, high performance, and innovation, leveraging modern tools and support to deliver excellent results for clients nationwide. Lead and manage a civil litigation defense caseload from intake through resolution. Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses. Develop and execute case strategy in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders. Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and, when needed, trials or arbitrations. Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and experts for testimony. Evaluate liability and damages exposure and advise clients on risk and settlement options. Negotiate settlements, mediations, and alternative dispute resolution where appropriate. Use Jobot’s technology tools to track matters, deadlines, and documentation efficiently. Collaborate with a high-performing, tech-forward team to share knowledge and best practices. Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of litigation processes.
