Air & Ocean Freight Forwarding | New York, NY

$105,000 to $150,000 Base + Uncapped Commission | OTE $200K+

A European freight forwarder is expanding its New York commercial team and hiring a Business Development Manager to drive new-logo growth across the NY/NJ metro market.

This role focuses on air and ocean freight forwarding sales across pharma and life sciences, premium retail and fashion, high-tech electronics, and transatlantic trade lanes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new shipper relationships across New York and New Jersey
  • Sell air freight, ocean freight, customs brokerage, and logistics solutions
  • Build pipeline across pharma, retail, fashion, electronics, and industrial accounts
  • Manage RFQs, RFPs, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiations
  • Partner with pricing, operations, and inside sales teams to convert opportunities
  • Maintain disciplined CRM activity in CargoWise, Salesforce, or similar systems
  • Deliver GP growth through new-logo acquisition and account development

Requirements

  • 4+ years of freight forwarding or international logistics sales experience
  • Proven air and ocean freight sales background
  • Existing shipper relationships across the US Northeast preferred
  • Track record winning accounts, developing lanes, and growing GP
  • Exposure to pharma, life sciences, retail, fashion, electronics, aerospace, or financial services logistics preferred
  • Working knowledge of customs processes, Incoterms, NVOCC pricing, and carrier economics
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and account development skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • $105,000 to $150,000 base salary
