Fixed Income Division - Associate, Public Finance Investment Banking (New York or Los Angeles or San Francisco)

As an Associate in the Public Finance Investment Banking Department, you support capital-raising for public sector and not-for-profit issuers, shaping tax-exempt and taxable offerings with structured solutions. You work with senior bankers to prepare live transactions and marketing materials, perform cash flow and credit analyses, and monitor debt portfolios. You engage with clients, travel for meetings, and translate market insights into actionable financing strategies. • Provide investment banking services to major public sector and not-for-profit clients
• Prepare and execute live transactions, including rating agency materials, investor roadshows, and sales memoranda
• Create marketing materials and responses/proposals based on market dynamics
• Conduct cash flow analyses to evaluate debt financing alternatives
• Update credit models and perform peer credit analysis
• Monitor debt portfolios and identify refinancing or restructuring opportunities
• Conduct debt capacity and affordability analyses
• Research and analyze market data to generate client insights
• Handle client inquiries and travel for meetings/conferences

• Experience in public finance banking or financial advisory services
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (preferred)
• DBC (preferred) and familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
