VP of Finance - Life Reinsurer

In this role you will lead the finance function for a growing life reinsurance business, strengthening financial reporting and building a scalable operating model. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure robust controls, drive process improvements, and support regulatory reporting. The position offers impact across accounting, reporting, and commercial insights as the company expands. This is a strategic leadership opportunity at a pivotal stage to shape the finance function and support growth.

• Oversee US GAAP accounting and close processes, including preparing financial statements
• Support the implementation of new life reinsurance transactions and assess accounting implications
• Analyze balance sheet movements and financial performance across the portfolio
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and governance as the business scales
• Drive enhancements to accounting processes, reporting systems, and general ledger
• Support regulatory and Bermuda statutory reporting requirements
• Collaborate with actuarial, risk, operations, and senior finance stakeholders
• Provide strategic input to finance initiatives and scalable operating model
• Contribute to building out the finance team as growth continues

• 10+ years in finance, accounting, or financial reporting within life insurance, life reinsurance, or related financial services
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP with experience in complex financial statements
• Experience with a significant balance sheet in a regulated financial services setting
• Exposure to life reinsurance accounting (flow or block transactions) is desirable
• Understanding of life insurance products and reinsurance structures and their accounting implications
• Experience with US statutory accounting and Bermuda regulatory reporting is advantageous
• Proven track record of improving processes and strengthening controls
• Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders and owning complex issues
