City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Support classroom management and create an encouraging learning environment Assist with planning and leading afterschool or enrichment programs Participate in school-wide events, attendance initiatives, and service projects Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and City Year teammates Attend and engage in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps training and development Communicate regularly with supervisors and document service activities Model City Year’s values of equity, inclusion, and commitment to student success Tutoring and academic support (reading and math) Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data entry and progress monitoring Communication and presentation skills Organization and time management Team collaboration in diverse groups Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competence and equity awareness Basic computer skills (email, documents, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Must pass background and criminal history checks Meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements Completion of City Year/AmeriCorps pre-service training Commitment to full-time service term (10–12 months)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
