City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students in core subjects under teacher guidance Lead small-group and one-on-one tutoring sessions to reinforce key skills Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and document student attendance, behavior, and academic progress Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and interventions Support afterschool programs, enrichment activities, and school events Participate in City Year training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Communicate regularly with teammates and supervisors to align on goals and progress Promote an inclusive, respectful, and equity-focused school environment Represent City Year and AmeriCorps values in the school and local community Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competence and equity-focused practice Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, learning platforms) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must qualify for AmeriCorps service (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Able to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service for the entire school year term Demonstrated interest in education, youth development, or social justice5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
