City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and one-on-one or small group tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, attendance, and engagement Support teachers with classroom management and learning activities Lead or assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities Track and report student progress using program tools and data Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to support school-wide initiatives Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development sessions Engage families and community partners in student support activities Tutoring and academic support (literacy and/or math) Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data entry and progress monitoring Facilitation of group activities or lessons Time management and organization Written and verbal communication Cultural competence and working with diverse populations Conflict resolution and de-escalation basics Use of productivity tools (email, documents, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background and reference checks Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
