RN-Ambulatory-OR

WCS Healthcare is actively seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for an established Ambulatory Surgery Center in Westchester County, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for an OR nurse looking to work in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment with a consistent daytime schedule and no overnight responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in both scrubbing and circulating, possess strong critical thinking skills, and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process.

Schedule

• Full-Time Opportunity
• Day Shift
• Ambulatory Surgery Center Setting
• No overnight shifts

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures
• Perform both scrub and circulate nursing duties
• Assist with patient positioning while ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff throughout procedures
• Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly within the facility's EMR system (Centricity)
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation of surgical specimens
• Maintain sterile technique and compliance with infection control standards
• Identify potential issues and initiate corrective actions as needed
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures
• Monitor patients and provide high-quality perioperative nursing care

Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room experience required
• Experience with both scrubbing and circulating preferred
• Acute Care or Hospital Operating Room experience preferred
• Experience utilizing electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Centricity
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience

• Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
• Ophthalmology surgery experience
• Pediatric surgical experience
• High-volume outpatient surgical settings
