Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule/Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM or 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; hybrid schedule with Monday-Tuesday remote and Wednesday-Friday onsite
Pay: $29.00 per hour

Job Summary

The Data Analyst will conduct data and information research, analyze datasets, develop dashboards and reports, and support various business projects. The role requires strong SQL skills, experience with Power BI or Tableau, and the ability to independently investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working with unfamiliar datasets in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct data and information research to support business and project needs.
• Analyze and interpret data using SQL, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence tools.
• Write and troubleshoot SQL queries using multi-table joins, aggregations, filters, and CASE statements.
• Investigate data discrepancies, missing records, and validation issues.
• Reconcile record counts across joins, datasets, and reporting outputs.
• Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI or Tableau dashboards and reports.
• Translate business requirements into meaningful dashboards, visualizations, metrics, and reports.
• Apply data modeling concepts, including relationships, measures, and calculated fields.
• Work with Import and/or DirectQuery data models as applicable.
• Analyze unfamiliar datasets and independently identify trends, issues, and potential root causes.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of research findings and project activities.
• Assist with reports, presentations, and other project documentation.
• Perform ad-hoc analytical and research tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects and assignments on time.
• Maintain data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Job Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or related experience preferred.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex SELECT statements, multi-table INNER and LEFT JOINs, aggregations, GROUP BY, WHERE clauses, and CASE statements.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau; Power BI experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot existing SQL code.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to independently identify data issues and determine root causes.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, KPIs, metrics, or other business intelligence outputs.
• Understanding of data modeling, relationships, measures, and calculated fields.
• Experience working with Import and/or DirectQuery modes is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to research unfamiliar information and datasets and clearly communicate findings.
• Python experience for data analysis, automation, scripting, or large-dataset manipulation is highly preferred.
• Ability to work with large datasets, including datasets containing one million or more records, is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

Education

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent relevant education and experience.

Work Experience

• Approximately 1-3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL and Power BI or Tableau is required.
