Medical Assistant – Outpatient Physical Therapy & Chiropractic Practice

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative operations within our outpatient rehabilitation practice. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys interacting with patients, and has strong multitasking and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and patient updates
  • Assist physical therapists, chiropractors, and providers with patient flow
  • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Support therapy and chiropractic procedures as directed by providers
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars
  • Verify insurance information and assist with authorizations when needed
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate follow-up care
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinic safety protocols
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering clinical supplies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient rehab, chiropractic, orthopedic, or physical therapy setting preferred
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of insurance verification and scheduling preferred
  • CPR certification preferred
