City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students during English, math, and other core subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to support academic progress Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Support students’ social-emotional development and engagement in school Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify student needs and strategies Track and document student progress and intervention activities Participate in school-wide events, after-school programs, and service projects Engage with teammates in regular planning, reflection, and problem-solving meetings Attend and actively participate in all required City Year trainings and coaching sessions Uphold City Year and AmeriCorps policies, professional standards, and service commitments Classroom support Small-group instruction Tutoring in core subjects (math, ELA) Youth mentoring Behavior management and de-escalation Data tracking and documentation Team collaboration Time management and reliability Basic computer and office software skills Written and verbal communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service for the program term5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
