City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small-group tutoring in core subjects Build positive, consistent relationships with students to encourage engagement Support students’ social-emotional development and growth mindset Monitor and track student attendance, behavior, and academic progress Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage in after-school programs, enrichment, and school-wide events as needed Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and mission-driven team culture Communicate regularly with supervisors about student progress and challenges Model professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to service in the school community Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Cultural competency and DEI awareness Time management and organization Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Workspace, email, virtual tools) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (must meet AmeriCorps citizenship and background requirements) Ability to pass background checks required by City Year and partner schools Commitment to completing a full 10–12 month service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
