City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects during and after school Support teachers with classroom management and positive behavior reinforcement Build strong, mentoring relationships with students to encourage attendance and engagement Assist with planning and leading afterschool and enrichment programs Collect and track student data to monitor progress and adjust support Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs and progress Support school-wide events, family engagement activities, and service projects Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school goals Model City Year values of equity, inclusion, and social justice in daily service Youth mentoring Tutoring/academic support Classroom management support Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, MS Office) Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Conflict resolution and de-escalation Time management and organization Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility for AmeriCorps service Ability to pass background checks Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency TB test or health clearance as required by school district5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
