City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects to K–12 students during and after school. Support teachers with classroom activities, student engagement, and behavior management. Monitor and document student progress using data to inform interventions and celebrations of growth. Mentor students by building positive relationships and fostering social-emotional skills and confidence. Collaborate with City Year teammates, school staff, and families to align supports for students. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development to strengthen tutoring and leadership skills. Assist with school-wide initiatives, enrichment activities, and events that contribute to a positive school climate.
