Grade/Salary Range: C41 ($28.59 - $36.21/hourly) / C42 ($29.95 - $37.94/hourly) - Non-exempt salary commensurate with experience Position Summary: Under the direction of the Public Health Nurse Supervisor, the Public Health Nurse I/II is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients based upon established written procedures in the Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing professional nursing care for active TB patients, conducting TB screenings and administering medication treatment per physician direction. Recording patient care and progress in the Electronic Medical Records and Ohio Disease Reporting Systems Assisting the physician with medical evaluations for various populations including refugees/immigrants/foreign-born and other high risk populations Completing appropriate forms and reports; Documenting data and generating reports as required. Assisting with contact investigations as required Performing blood draws/venipuncture skills as needed Providing education and resources for patients, families and community partners on TB testing, treatment and referrals Minimum Qualifications: PH Nurse I/C41: Associate's degree in nursing with 2 years of relevant experience PH Nurse II/C42: Bachelor's degree in nursing with 4 years of relevant experience (2 years of which are Public Health), OR Associate's degree in nursing with 6 years of relevant experience (2 years of which are Public Health) Current valid Licensure from State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse Must maintain Registered Nurse licensure by completing 24 CEUs every two (2) years Must have an active CPR registration Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams). Understands and acknowledges that Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County uses evidence-based and evidence-informed public health practices based on scientific research including health promotion theory and practice, environmental health measures, and communicable disease control measures including vaccination, isolation, and quarantine practices, and medicine for treatment and prevention of disease, among others. Understands and acknowledges the use of tobacco or nicotine products in any form including replacement therapy products and prescription medications used to treat smoking addiction for anyone hired after January 1, 2014, is prohibited. Required to play an active role during a public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional personnel resources are warranted. This may include changes in responsibilities and working locations/hours. Completion of Incident Command System 100 and National Incident Management System 700 courses within 90 days of hire. Valid State of Ohio driver's license and insurance on any personal vehicle that will be used for work. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and current valid licensure from State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse.
