Overview

In this role you drive high-quality tax advisory for a diverse client portfolio within a collaborative tax practice. You lead cross-functional teams, apply GAAP insights, and manage project risk, billing, and budgets to deliver value. You will assess tax implications, build arguments, and propose action plans for clients. As a Senior Manager, you also guide market activities and mentor staff, shaping a culture of client-focused excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead tax professionals and support staff on client engagements
  • Analyze GAAP rules affecting taxpayers and apply them to client scenarios
  • Oversee engagement risk, financial performance, billing, collections, and project budgeting
  • Deliver high-quality tax service and strategic advice to clients
  • Evaluate tax impact, develop supporting arguments, and propose client-ready plans
  • Senior Manager: participate in external market activities and provide team leadership
  • Senior Manager: coach and mentor tax professionals
Key requirements
  • Minimum five years of corporate tax experience in financial services focusing on alternative investments
  • Experience as a tax manager in a public accounting firm
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • CPA, JD/LLM or EA or other approved credential (or ability to obtain within one year)
  • Proficiency in taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Senior Manager: minimum eight years in a tax senior management role with public accounting experience in alternative investments
  • Senior Manager: solid experience reviewing 1120 RIC and 1065 returns, including Schedule K-1, and managing multiple engagements
